First visit to the construction site of Aledia’s new production area in Champagnier

In 2018, in collaboration with Elegia Developpement, we created the new Aledia headquarters in Echirolles. The Grenoble-based start-up specialized in revolutionary microLED technology just keeps on growing and is looking to build a new factory dedicated to manufacturing microLED displays and components. Aledia is revolutionizing next generation displays. This emerging technology is poised to replace LCD and Oled technologies. It claims to be less energy consuming, longer lasting and able to accommodate other types of sensors. This new production plant will boost Aledia’s competitiveness in this huge market.

Aledia once again placed their trust in ER2i to work with them on this new large-scale project, as general contractor and representative for the entire project.

The ER2i team dedicated to this project organized a preliminary tour of the worksite for all of ER2i’s employees.

View of the southwest façade. The process building is progressing: the last spans of the structural steelwork are being fitted, and the roof waterproofing is being fitted on the first spans. No work has started on the tertiary part as it is still being defined by ALEDIA.

View of the upper floor of the basement with the trimmers laid under the composite steel decking for the future hook-Up passages in the clean room.

View of the utility area, which will be divided into a boiler room, chilled water room, compressed air room and control room.

View of the east façade with the Neutra tank and the freight elevator shaft.

View of the northeast façade. Last part of the structural steelwork to be erected with the future logistics area.

Detail on the studs welded on the purlins that will become part of the composite floor (embedded in the concrete). This solution takes full advantage of the properties of steel and concrete. The connectors (studs) supplement the use of the steel decking by connecting the concrete slab to the steel support beams. These connectors prevent slippage between the two materials and help the concrete to add strength to the beams. With the same operating load, by using connectors, the dimensions of the steel beams can be reduced, thus reducing the thickness of the floor.

View onto the first floor that will host the clean room.

View of the roof on the last spans (North of the process building).
