In Saint-Julien-en-Genevois, construction of GTP Biologics’ future research facility is progressing according to schedule. Following the start of construction, the teams at IDEC HAUTES TECHNOLOGIES are continuing their work, having already achieved several technical milestones. On-site, the building’s structure is now taking shape, marking a new phase in the development of this project dedicated to scientific research.
A building that is now protected from the elements
The past few months have been marked by the completion of roofing work and the installation of exterior windows and doors. These efforts have made the building weatherproof since mid-December, a key milestone in the project’s progress.

This waterproofing and airtight sealing paved the way for the installation of technical systems inside the building. The teams thus began installing the HVAC, gas, and plumbing systems in the suspended ceilings, which are essential for the future operation of the laboratories.

At the same time, work on the floors continues on the ground floor, paving the way for the next phases of interior construction.

Technical work continues ahead of the interior renovations
Upstairs, work is currently focused on installing the main electrical distribution panel, solar panels, and plumbing fixtures. These activities are part of the gradual commissioning of the building’s technical infrastructure.

As Gillen, a Construction Engineer at IDEC HAUTES TECHNOLOGIES, explains, the coming weeks will be devoted to installing partitions to define the various spaces in the future building. Following that, work will begin on installing the air-handling unit, before technical work continues toward the project’s final acceptance, scheduled for April 2026.
