Renovation of level 1 of the B5 building located at the Edouard-Herriot Hospital in Lyon to house the (unclassified) Immunohematology-Delivery and HLA laboratories of the EFS (French national blood authority).
Technical and architectural adaptation of a 520-m² facility to overcome space limitations and improve working conditions for EFS employees. General revamping of the finishing works for the areas; this involves the partitions, woodwork, floors and ceiling. The complex was stripped down completely and only the load-bearing walls were preserved.
Main challenges and technical constraints: historic building under special protection as part of the architectural heritage, adaptation with existing technical equipment / networks, low ceiling height, structural reinforcement to accommodate a storage carousel weighing 3T at full load.
